IHCF African Christian Hospital

African Christian Hospitals is the supporting / facilitating organization for seven medical mission points in Africa.

We place an emphasis on training, equipping, and empowering African health practitioners and community health facilitators to be able to treat and minister to their neighbors.  This, we believe, creates an opportunity for lasting change and far-reaching impact in countries that are in need of both physical and spiritual care.

World Christian Broadcasting

God wants people—all people—to enjoy a personal relationship with him. Many in our world have little or no

opportunity to hear about God’s loving invitation.

World Christian Broadcasting is a non-profit organization supported by concerned Christians whose purpose is to

take God’s Word—through mass media—to people who may have no other means of hearing the Good News.

Our official Mission Statement: “World Christian Broadcasting exists so that people in places best served by broadcast

media become aware of the Good News of Jesus Christ and want to know more.”

The message of God is relevant to all time, yet the ways that message is delivered must stay current.

Andy Baker, CEO

World Christian Broadcasting’s international shortwave broadcasting communicates the Good News to millions every day. KNLS, located at the top of the world in Anchor Point, Alaska, has been on the air since 1983. A new station, located on the island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, began operating on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.  In addition, each of our seven languages offers its own website, so that people out of broadcast range can still read important, life-giving messages.

Through these shortwave transmissions, we can blanket virtually the entire inhabited world. By speaking in people’s own language, forming friendships, and creating bonds of trust, World Christian Broadcasting sparks hope, interest, and curiosity among listeners. Programming encourages a search for meaning in life, spiritual reflection, and personal study of the message of Jesus. By the grace of God and the technology He provides, many will hear the Good News, perhaps for the first time, and respond to the life-changing invitation of God. We invite your partnership in this mission.

BANGLADESH – NEPAL MISSIONS REPORT JULY, 2020

The big news world-wide for July was the continued growth in Covid 19 cases, especially in the U.S. Most of the country remains under “Stay-at-home” orders or advisories. International travel restrictions continue to be in place, making over-seas mission travel difficult to impossible. Many, but not all, churches have resumed some public assemblies with precautions in place to protect members from infection.

Given the on-going pandemic concerns, I have done very little reporting in person so far this summer. I did report to one congregation near Manchester, Tennessee, on July 12 and to the church in Brilliant, Alabama, July 26. At both places I gave a report on our recent activity in Asia during Bible class periods and preached for the morning assemblies. I will be calling most of our other supporters soon to set up reports with all those who so desire.

Panir Tripura (2nd from left) and new Christians

In my last report I told of a “webinar” in Nepal in which I participated. This has become established as a twice monthly event, with one of the sessions being devoted to foreign teachers and the other for Nepali teachers only. I spoke for the second “foreign teacher” session on July 28 and have accepted the invitation to be a regular speaker each month. These classes are conducted via Zoom and the audience so far has been 70 to 80 persons. A KBC graduate, Panir Tripura, reported 4 baptisms in Khagrachari District in early July. These four young men are worshipping with at least 2 others who were previously converted, forming a new congregation in the Maitiranga sub-district.

In this poor area the members live in small, often one room, houses with no room for worship assemblies. Frequently one such house will be home to at least 2 or 3 generations. Church buildings are needed in several places, both in Bangladesh and Nepal.

Plans to reopen KBC for the fall semester met another obstacle in late July when the Bangladesh government extended the school closures until at least August 31. The announcement from the ministry of education read: “School holidays are extended until 31 August for all forms of educational institutions.” That includes public and private schools as well as primary, secondary, higher secondary (i.e., junior college), and university levels.

2 KBC is poised to resume classes as soon as it is legal and feasible. We have received 6 applications from prospective new students and there are 6 upperclassmen returning to continue their studies. I have recently been informed that a few more applications are expected.

Thomas Sarker and family are now virus free and no longer under quarantine. He, his wife, and her sister all tested positive for Covid 19 and suffered from moderate symptoms. Thankfully all have made a full recovery.

Due to the remoteness of many Christians in Nepal plus restrictions on travel, relief from Covid 19 was slow arriving in some areas. That effort was fully accomplished during July as over 250 additional families were given packages of rice, dhal, protein nuggets and other necessities. Each packet was designed to provide a basic diet for a family of 5 for one month.

Funding for Bangladesh – Nepal Missions has been affected by the pandemic as has almost every aspect of our lives, churches, and work. Several churches give annually when I am able to visit them in person. Without those visits the contributions may not come. Of course many of our regular supporters are individuals whose income has been adversely affected due to either lack of work, or decrease in retirement income. Understandably, some of these have had to reduce or suspend their contributions. That reduction must be compensated for. Additionally as the gospel spreads, needs increase. If you can help with an increase in regular giving or a special one-time contribution it will be greatly appreciated. But as always we thank you for your support, your prayers, and your continued interest in this work.

Sincerely,

Save Asian Souls

My latest report was about our food for Nepal Christians.  We fed 3280 Christians in Nepal for four months.  As a result the Christians shared their rice with neighbors and we were able to baptize 36 new souls into Christ.  The food program has ended since they are back at work but we continue to feed Christians in Laos.

Our new safe house shown to the right is completed and the girls have moved into it.

It will house 60 girls in Thailand.

Pat and I will depart the USA to return to Asia on 1 November with the purpose of building another safe house in Northern Thailand to house about 30 girls.

The total number of girl in our care is about 270 (Nepal, Laos, Thailand and the Philippines) The Philippines safe house is completed and we have two girls ready to move into it. (see photo)

It is great to have Liberty on our team of saving lives and souls.  Keep us in your prayers.  We will send you a detailed report on a flash drive next week.  Let me know if you have any questions.

With love,

Ron Brown

Jerry & Paula Bates

Despite Covid Jerry was able to travl to Tanzania, Africa in July to teach in the Andrew Connally School of Preaching. He made the trip with no problems, but he was extremely glad to arrive. He had little time to rest before starting his teaching. Arriving early Monday morning, and after traveling an additional 1-1/2 hours, he arrived at the school and started teaching immediately after lunch. He was teaching the master's program for these two weeks. Three of the students were from Kenya, which is the neightboring country. Jerry had been there multiple times before, so it was somewhat like seeing old friends.

While at the school, Jerry was also able to talk about a new project, the translation of the Voice of Truth in the Swahili language. Peter Kamatula lives in Mbeya in the southern part of Tanzania, and he traveled by bus about 18 hours to visit with Jerry. They had met a few times before. He and two other men, both of whom live near the school and were in Jerry's classes, are interested in translating the Voice of Truth. Jerry was able to spend time on Saturday talking with them and working out some issues, such as cost, distribution, and how to get the funds to them for the printing. They are doing all this work free of

charge, just for the good of the church and we appreciate them so much for their desire and willingness to tak on this work. One issue is nearly translated already. We are excited about this possibility, as it will not only benefit the church in Tanzania, but we hope to distrubute it into the neighboring countries in which the same language is spoken, mainly Malawi, Zambia, Uganda, and part of Kenya. The first books printed will be 3,000 copies of each of the three little Bible correspondence courses that Jerry has written. They will be distributed during the leadership seminar held in September at the school.

This illustrates what we have mentioned at other times. When we travel to various countries, we may go there primarily to tech, but almost always, we are able to talk about other ways we can help the church due to our literature capabilities. This is a great use of time and resources. All day Sunday was spent with the local congregation near the school. This is a large church, close to 200 on Sunday attendance, and they are now in theh process of appointing elders. They had an all day seminar about the eldership, and they invited Peter Kamatula to speak three times about the subject.

Jerry's trip was a profitable one, and depending on the virus may be the only trip this year. We hope to make a trip this fall, but with the virus still exploding here and other countries, we are unable to really plan on anything. However if God is willing, we are certainly desiring to possibly visit Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Nepal later this year.

Immediately after Jerry returned from Tanzania, the Voice of Truth arrived. A small group from Tanzania and a small group from the Huntville church near French Camp, MS came and helped unload the books and prepared a mailout of 1,000 packages before the truck even arrived. This lead to more work as the books had to be shipped back out to various addresses in the U.S.

We also packed some "preacher boxes." These are small boxes that we ship every six months to various foreign preachers and congregations who request literature. With a variety of literature unavailable in other countries, those preachers are hungry for resources to help them grow in knowledge and increase their evangelistic effectiveness.

Truth For Today World Mission School

Since 1989, Truth for Today World Mission School has published the periodical Truth for Today to provide biblical instruction to national preachers around the world.  The 52-page periodical is filled with expository Bible studies, including sermon and class suggestions and visual aids.  It is ad-free and is sent overseas free of charge.

In the hands of a national preacher, Truth for Today provides strong biblical guidance and encouragement.  Specific content guidelines have been set to ensure that the teaching materials are in harmony with the restoration of New Testament Christianity.  Specifically, (a) these materials are to respect and promote the New Testament church and must not in any way sanction or lend credence to denominationalism; that is, religious bodies created by man; (b) these materials must concentrate on the exposition of the teachings of the Bible in a fundamental, safe, and practical way; (c) these materials must always be clear on the way of salvation through faith, repentance, confession of Jesus Christ, and baptism for the forgiveness of sins, as taught in the Scriptures; (d) these materials must promote the worship of God according to the New Testament pattern and must not express any kind of approval for any kind of human innovation; (e) these materials must not argue for American Christianity as opposed to arguing for the universal Christianity of the New Testament with its eternal principles which may be appropriately applied in any culture.
